Anthony Stolarz Receives Yet Another Unfortunate Injury Update from Craig Berube

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is recovering from Sam Bennett’s elbow to his head and recently, Craig Berube offered a sobering update.

When Anthony Stolarz went down in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers, there were some serious fears that this series was over, despite the 1-0 lead.

However, in Game 2, Joseph Woll played solid enough to get the win and now, the Leafs are up 2-0 heading back to Florida.

Going into this road trip, fans have been wondering whether or not Stolarz would be healthy enough to make the trip with his teammates. This morning, we got that answer.

Anthony Stolarz injury update

While speaking to the media, Leafs head coach Craig Berube revealed that Stolarz won’t be on the team’s flight today. Moreover, he didn’t have further updates.

That said, he did make it known that there is a slight chance Stolarz could hop on a flight by himself for Game 4, but there is no telling if that will be possible.

Game 3 goes down on Friday and Game 4 goes down on Sunday. Meanwhile, Game 5 would take place in a week from now, which is line with the return range from a concussion.

If Woll drops the ball in the next two matchups, then it is not outside the realm of possibility we see Stolarz in goal for Game 5. But still, there are no guarantees.

Only time will tell what happens next in this series. What we do know is that the fans are very excited about what they are seeing.

This is easily the best the Maple Leafs have ever played in the playoffs in the Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner era, which is very exciting.
