Brendan Shanahan is officially out as president of the Toronto Maple Leafs after 11 seasons. The team announced Thursday that his contract will not be renewed, with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment president Keith Pelley set to speak Friday.

Shanahan, who joined the Leafs in 2014, said his biggest regret is not bringing a Stanley Cup to Toronto. He thanked the staff, fans, and players, adding, “There is nothing more I wanted to deliver.”

General manager Brad Treliving will remain with the team.
